Shyam Dwaraknath won the second-place $1500 prize at the Berkeley Lab Research SLAM with his presentation on “Pathway to Materials by Design”!

The competition challenges early-career researchers to pitch their research to a general audience with only three minutes and one slide. A panel of five judges decided first- and second-place prizes. In addition, there was a People’s Choice prize voted on by the live audience in building 50.

Shyam brimming with pride after successful epitaxy of his recent research to the substrate of a three-minute, one-slide, general-audience presentation. Though it took some energy to arrange the composition of the talk, he knew from his work on amorphous limits that it "wasn't impossible".
